Before You Begin

You will need:

  • Your new Giant number

  • The WhatsApp Business app

  • The ability to receive a verification code via:

    • SMSif you ordered a mobile number, or

    • Automated voice callif your number is a landline/VoIP number

Step 1 — Install WhatsApp Business

  1. Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).

  2. Search for WhatsApp Business.

  3. Download and open the app.

Step 2 — Enter Your Giant Number

  1. Select United Kingdom (+44).

  2. Enter your Giant number without the leading zero.

    • Example: 0203 123 4567+44 203 123 4567

Step 3 — Verification

If You Have a Mobile Number

  • You will receive a 6-digit SMS code.

  • Enter the code in the app.

  • If SMS does not arrive, you can select “Call me” instead.

If You Have a Landline / VoIP Number

  • SMS will not arrive — this is normal.

  • Tap “Call me”.

  • You will receive an automated voice call reading your verification code.

  • Enter the 6-digit code into WhatsApp.

Tip: Make sure your phone system can receive automated calls.
If you use IVR, call screening, or call blocking, ensure automated calls are allowed.

Step 4 — Set Up Your Business Profile

After verification, you will be asked to set up your business details:

  • Business name

  • Category

  • Opening hours

  • Website

  • Description

These details help customers recognise your business.

Step 5 — Start Using WhatsApp Business

Once completed, your Giant number is fully registered.
You can now:

  • Chat with customers

  • Set up welcome/away messages

  • Use labels to organise chats

  • Add products/services in the catalogue

  • Create quick replies for common messages

Troubleshooting

I didn’t get the SMS (mobile number)

  • Ensure the number is entered in +44 format

  • Wait 1 minute and tap Resend SMS

  • Try “Call me” instead

I didn’t get the verification call (landline/VoIP number)

  • Make sure your line can accept inbound calls

  • Check if call filtering or IVR might be blocking automated calls

  • Try again after 1 minute

WhatsApp says the number is already in use

This can happen if the number was previously registered.
You can still continue — WhatsApp will simply log out any other device using the number.
